The House of the Future integrates modern technologies, cultural identity and ecological principles in its design. It responds to the challenges of today's world by offering more than just a living space - it is a vision of self-sufficient communities that support sustainability, social interaction and a high quality of life.
The design is based on the idea of a three-ring city layout. The outer ring is formed by a looser urban structure, including residential communities, aquaponic farms and wind power plants. These elements reduce the ecological footprint of what? while providing local residents with essential resources such as? on site. The middle ring combines housing, jobs and civic amenities, creating a balance between daily needs and community life. The inner ring represents the central business and administrative area, which serves as the main center for administration and social activities.
The design of the individual house is carefully adapted to the specific environmental conditions of the eastern part of the Arabian Peninsula. The materials used for its construction reflect the local culture and natural environment - they are durable, flexible, yet soft in texture and warm to the touch.
Prefabricated elements ensure fast and efficient construction, while the modularity of the design allows future owners to adapt the house to their needs.
The project emphasizes sustainability through the rational use of resources. Water is collected and regulated in closed systems, minimizing wastage in an environment with a high drought stress. Passive solutions, such as natural shading and air circulation, reduce the need for active cooling, contributing significantly to energy efficiency.
The House of the Future also addresses an important social dimension. The public space is designed to support social interaction through shared facilities, such as cultural and community centers. Such an approach is a precondition for the emergence of strong, interconnected communities able to cope with the challenges of the future.
Out of thousands of proposals from 127 countries around the world, our proposal won the Sustainability Award. The jury appreciated its ability to connect local tradition with modern innovation, paying special attention to the ecological and social dimensions of the project. The House of the Future presents an ambitious vision that shows how cities and communities can thrive in harmony with nature and culture.
